PAF Reportedly in Talks for Future Multi-role Fighter Munitions with Raytheon, Boeing

“The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has been in negotiations with American defense companies Raytheon and Boeing regarding the planned acquisition of munitions for the PAF’s future Multi-Role Fighter,” MaxDefense Philippines said in a Facebook post, citing information from sources.

MaxDefense noted that the negotiations for munitions is “concurrent with the negotiations for the Multi-Role Fighter project itself.”

“And based on the information that we received, the basis for the munitions to be acquired was specifically for the Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Block 70 Viper,” it added. “Among those being negotiated are Raytheon’s AIM-9X Sidewinder and AIM-120C AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, the AGM-65 Maverick air-to-ground missile, and Boeing’s AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missile, and JDAM smart bomb kits for 500lb and 1000lb bombs.”
