Por ayudar a Ucrania, Eslovaquia recibe AH-1Z y Hellfires
Eslovaquia recibe 12 AH-1Z ex-USMC

Turkey obtained the necessary export permits from the USA in order to export the T129 ATAK Attack and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopter to the Philippines. With the completion of the necessary approvals, a total of 12 ATAK exports will be made to the Philippines, 6 in the first batch and 6 in the second.
Philippine Defense Minister Delfin Lorenzana said in a statement to the press on 07 December 2018, Turkish Aviation and Space Industry Inc. (TAI) produced the T-129 ATAK Assault and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopter and announced that 6-8 units would be purchased in the first place.
However, the sale in question did not come to life for a while due to awaiting export permission for US manufactured parts such as the engine in the T129 ATAK helicopter. In fact, the United States offered to sell AH-64 Apache and AH-1Z Viper helicopters to the Philippines in the meantime, but this offer was not accepted by the Philippines.
According to the information in Defense Industry; TUSAŞ Corporate Marketing and Communications Director Serdar Demir stated in his statement at the Defense's Star Shines event that the USA gave the necessary export permits for ATAK exports to the Philippines.
A total of 12 ATAK exports will be made to the Philippines, 6 in the first batch and 6 in the second.

Australia no quiere el programa de mejoras del Tiger ARH
Australia Rejects Tiger ARH Upgrade Proposal
ADF Tiger ARH (photo : Airbus Helicopters)
Airbus doubles-down on Tiger replacement proposal
Airbus Australia Pacific will double-down on its unsolicited proposal for the Commonwealth’s LAND 4503 ARH replacement program by offering an enhanced Tiger ARH upgrade proposal.
Speaking to media on October 7, APAC Managing Director Andrew Mathewson said the company’s initial proposal of an upgrade to the current 22 Tiger ARHs and an additional seven Airbus H145M helicopters had been formally rejected in a letter to the company from Defence Minister, Senator Linda Reynolds.
But Mathewson is not deterred and says that, rather than the previous offer of a mixed fleet including seven H145Ms to make up the LAND 4503 requirement of 29 airframes, the company will up the ante by proposing a more comprehensive upgrade to the current Tiger fleet, and is actively seeking seven additional Tiger airframes from European stocks. While he wouldn’t be drawn on where these airframes could be sourced from Mathewson said that, while discussions were ongoing, he was relatively confident he could do so.
The Tiger assembly line closed in 2018, but the aircraft is also operated by Germany (51), France (40), and Spain (24), with the French and Spanish Tiger HAP/HAD model being the most common configuration to Australia’s Tiger ARH.
He said the seven additional airframes would likely be the first delivered in the proposed upgraded form, and then the 22 Australian ARH machines would then be inducted and rotated through the upgrade process. Most of the upgrade work would be conducted by Australian industry led by Airbus from its Brisbane Airport facility in Queensland, and could be completed for less than $1.5 billion.
Mathewson said he wasn’t ready to publicly discuss what the enhanced upgrade proposal might include, but did offer that Airbus would be looking to leverage as much of the planned Tiger Block 3 upgrade which would bring the three European operators’ Tigers closer to a common configuration. He added that, while the Block 3 upgrade had recently been defined, it has not yet been made public.
But despite claimed cost savings of up to $3.5 billion compared to a FMS buy of new helicopters, Airbus may not have sufficient time to develop and present its enhanced concept before a decision to proceed to tender is made by the end of 2020. Recent media reports have indicated the Commonwealth is favouring a sole-source tender to Boeing to the AH-64E Apache.

Filipinas explora la posibilidad de T129 ATAK turcos
DND Pushing Through with T129 ATAK, Requiring Guarantees
T129 ATAK attack helicopter (photo : Turkish Soldiers)
“The Department of National Defense will push through with the acquisition of the T129 ATAK offered by Turkish Aerospace,” Department of National Defense (DND) Public Affairs Chief Arsenio Andolong said as quoted by Janes in a report July 15.
“We will require [Turkey] to commit to certain guarantees before proceeding with the acquisition,” Andolong added.
According to Janes, the sale of T129 to Philippines faced delay due to United States’ sales restrictions on the helicopter’s US-made LHTEC CTS800-4A engine. “These restrictions are linked to Ankara’s decision to procure the S-400 Triumf air-defence system from Russia,” Janes reported.
MaxDefense Philippines said DND’s move “is despite the Philippine Air Force’s TWG (technical working group) already deciding to drop the T129B ATAK in favor of one of the three American helicopter models offered to the DND and PAF.”

Defense chief Delfin Lorenzana on Wednesday said the government is considering to purchase attack helicopters from Turkey.
In a television interview, Lorenzana said attack helicopters from the United States are expensive, adding that the country could not afford those assets especially at this time of health crisis.
"I don't know if we can afford that (US attack helicopters) now because of this pandemic. We're channeling a lot of funds to fight COVID..." Lorenzana told CNN-Philippines.
"We are looking at the Turkey's attack helicopters... It is under negotiation and we have not yet signed any contract with them because we are looking at their equipment further to ensure that what we have is what we need," he added.
It was on April 30 when the US State Department announced the approval of a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Philippine government, which includes six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and related military equipment for an estimated cost of $1.5 billion.

Boeing is in talks with the Philippines regarding a potential sale of the company's AH-6i light attack and reconnaissance helicopter, an official told Jane's on 5 May.
With the US State Department having recently approved the potential sale of Boeing's AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopter to the Philippine Air Force (PAF), Terry Jamison, Director, Vertical Lift International Sales, said that the company is exploring the possibility of selling the AH-6i to the Philippine Army also.
"We are actually working an AH-6 campaign with the Philippines. The army has expressed an interest in the capability, and we are answering their questions and providing information on the helicopter, but I wouldn't want to say anything more than that at this stage," Jamison said.

Army to Finally Take Delivery of Light Attack Helicopters
NSTEquipment of MD-530G for Malaysian Army Aviation (photo : justhelicopters)
KUALA LUMPUR: The Cabinet recently approved for the Army to proceed with the delivery of six light scout attack helicopters.
The acquisition of the McDonnell Douglas MD530G helicopters was initially completed in 2015.
Army chief General Tan Sri Ahmad Hasbullah Mohd Nawawi said that a technical team will proceed to the United States next week to deal with the delay.
“The team will pursue obtaining the required certification from its United States manufacturers, for use in Malaysia.
“Once that is done, we will send the pilots for conversion training, followed by the maintenance crew to equip themselves with the know-how for the helicopters’ upkeep,” he said in conjunction with the 87th Army Day to be held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on Sunday.
Hasbullah added that the six helicopters will be based in Sabah for deployment with the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom).
He also said that the first MD530G is expected to be delivered by year’s end, with the remainder being delivered in stages through next year.
The MD530G, dubbed “Little Birds”, were initially procured for RM300 million in Nov 2015 from MD Helicopters Inc of United States aerospace giant McDonnell Douglas Corp.
The terms of the contract stipulate that the helicopters are slated to be delivered in two batches – the first two by July 2017, with the other four scheduled to arrive by Dec 2018.
The MD530G will replace the four Sikorsky S-61A-4 Nuri which have been grounded with the Army Aviation Wing.
This followed the decision last month by the Royal Malaysian Air Force to phase out its entire fleet of 38 Nuris, after five decades of service, owing to exorbitant maintenance costs.
The Nuri helicopters were grounded following a near-fatal crash at the Gubir army camp in Kedah on Aug 2 last year.
More than 80 personnel were reportedly killed in more than 20 crashes since the Nuris were first introduced in 1967.
On another note, Hasbullah said that the army, as the bedrock of the nation, faces a struggle to maintain its 133 camps nationwide, including 109 in the Peninsula, including accommodation for soldiers and their families.
“On top of that, we have to monitor the 550km land border with Thailand, and the 2,100km border with Indonesia’s Kalimantan on Borneo island.
“We are trying to beef up the force from the current 95,000, of which 25,000 are in east Malaysia, with an additional 15,000 troops,” he said.
As for Army Day, he said the programme will kick-start with a convoy of vehicles from Tawau to Semporna, Lahat Datu, Sandakan, Kudat, Kota Belud and end at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu.
Part of a gotong-royong which has been organised will involve the repainting of churches and mosques, and the sprucing up of cemeteries.
“We decided to celebrate Army Day in Sabah to further expose our activities for the local folk to familiarise themselves with us.
“We want them to be aware that maintaining security and safeguarding sovereignty is the joint responsibility of all under the total-defence concept,” said Hasbullah, adding that the army could mobilise 5,000 troops at any given time, round-the-clock.
