Three Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk Arrived in Thailand

Royal Thai Army's new 3 Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk (Refurbished) utillity helicopters was spotted at port and during transport on road in Thailand in February 2020.

According to the Thai Army, there are 6 Boeing CH-47D Chinook helicopter wreck exchange programs, including repair parts, maintenance tools, with ground equipment that has been stationed in the General Support Aviation Division (now the 41st Aviation Battalion), the Thai Army Aviation Center.


With the Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk (Refurbished) helicopters, which have been upgraded with the standard equipment installed in accordance with the US Army standards.

Most recently, images have been found in February 2020 states that all 3 units UH-60A have been transported to Thailand from the port and transported by low-load trailer trucks at night. Understand that there should be an examination by the Royal Thai Air Force.

Currently, Flight 9 at the Department of Aviation, Army Aviation Center has 9 Sikorsky UH-60L and 3 Sikorsky UH-60M (3 new machines from the factory), when combined with the newly provided UH-60A, the number will increase to 15.


Although the newly assigned 3 UH-60A (Refurbished) the device will be a machine that has been used in the US military before, but has been restored to be modern and continue to use can last for many years. It is worthwhile to increase the number of general-purpose helicopters for the AAC.

In this regard, the 41st Aviation Battalion have 7 Mil Mi-17V5 general-purpose helicopters and being procured 1 additional unit, total 8 units, with a total procurement demand 12 machines to replace the CH-47D, although the loading capacity is not the same.
