GDLS Awarded Contract to Support Australian ASLAVs and M1A1 Abrams Tanks until 2022

General Dynamics Land Systems-Australia provides the Australian Defence Force with leading Military vehicles such as the Australian Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAV) and M1A1 Abrams main battle tank.
The Phase 3 Australian Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAV) contract was awarded in 2003, including a new turret electric drive, enhanced thermal sight with laser range find and an improved fire control system for the 25 mm turrets in the fleet, as well as integration of a GPS-based navigation system and enhanced suspension system.

General Dynamics Land Systems-Australia was awarded a number of contract extensions for the through life support contract of the Australian Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAV) and M1A1 Abrams tanks to 2022.
General Dynamics Land Systems-Australia was established in 2004 and was formerly known as General Motors Defence Australia which was established in 1991.
