Asintel TNI chief Gen. Become A First for Visiting Warship HMAS Adelaide
On Saturday, October 22, 2017, Asintel TNI commander - Major General (TN) Benny Indra Pujihastono - greeted at the warship HMAS Adelaide as Indonesia's first high-ranking officers to climb the stairs of his ship.
Asintel TNI chief was invited on board by the captain of the ship - Colonel (RAN) Paul Mandziy - with a delegation consisting of; DIO Marsdya Director John McGarry, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Defense of Australia Jakarta Laksma (RAN) Robert Plath, Atdar Embassy in Canberra Col. Hari Mulyanto; Pasaribu Fitz and his staff Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel and Major Bonar Panjaitan Henru Hidayat Susanto.
Delegation visited all four main deck, including; heavy vehicles, accommodation, hangars and Light Vehicle Deck for lightweight vehicles and cargo, and fly deck; as well as bridges and watchtowers.
HMAS Adelaide is the largest ship ever built for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Amphibious Assault Ships also known as Landing Helicopter Docks (LHD) constructed by a contractor BAE Systems Australia and Navantia (Spain).
Along with her sister ship LHD ship - HMAS Canberra, they provide the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with a combined amphibious deployment system most capable and sophisticated in the world. The warship can start, transport and deployed military forces and assets along with alutsistanya aviation supportability. Purpose built boat will allow the transport of troops and equipment to the beach, including where there are no facilities no fixed port facilities.
This capability is particularly useful for military operations other than war (MOOTW), in particular natural disaster relief operations that often occurs Asteng region and the South Pacific.
We very much hope that the LHD ability to cooperate with other countries in the near future.
