Australia pide información por IFV a orugas y con torreta

Defence Releases RFI for LAND 400 Infantry Fighting Vehicles to Replace M-113

The life of type of the Australian Army’s M113AS4 Armoured Personnel Carrier is expected to be reached in 2025.

An open Request for Information (RFI) for the LAND 400 Phase 3 Mounted Close Combat Capability project has been issued, as the federal government considers the acquisition and support of a tracked and turreted Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).

The purpose of the RFI, which will close on February 22, is to ascertain the price and availability of solutions that could satisfy Australian Army requirements for an IFV and Manoeuvre Support Vehicle (MSV).

The schedule for LAND 400 Phase 3 is intended to align the initial operating capability milestone for the IFV and MSV with the life of type of the M113AS4 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) in 2025.

Mature technologies with a robust technological growth path are being sought. The government is seeking an IFV with high levels of protection and mobility commensurate with the M1A1 Abrams tank that would be capable of transporting an eight-man section.

Information is also being sought on solutions based on tracked APCs and wheeled Armoured Fighting Vehicles in the IFV role.

An industry briefing is due to be conducted in Canberra on November 27.
