Argentine Marine Corps: Exercise in Peru

Marines participate in a multinational exercise in Peru


25/06/2010 | It is "Intercambio Sur 2010", which intervene also assests from Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, United States, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, and the host country.





In 2008, the exercise was conducted at the Baterías naval base (Argentina), armed with four participants and four others as guests.


More than 500 members of the Armed Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, United States, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay held between May and July 20th the "Intercambio Sur 2010" exercise.


The host of this edition of the multinational exercise will be Peru, where there are already coordinating the final details.


In addition to the staff of the Marine Corps in these countries involve the amphibious ships USS "New Orleans" of the U.S. Navy and the Peru's BDP "Eten".


Past Exchanges


The first "Intercambio Sur "exchange was held in 2007, in Chile, with the participation of 230 men.


Argentina hosted the exercise in 2008, during which Brazil, Chile and the United States intervened, as well as Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and another guests.


Brazil hosted the following year. This year, in Peru, the number of staff increased to 523. The number of countries participating in "Intercambio Sur 2010" shows a marked interest in the region by train with the different Marine Corps.
