Then, in August 2013, it became known that the Russian Defense Ministry has postponed signing a contract for the supply of 37 MiG-35 for three years. In particular, it was reported that the decision to postpone the signing of the contract was made ??at the request of the Ministry of Finance of Russia, which has offered to move some of the costs the state armaments program for 2014-2016 years later period.
In parallel with the postponement of the purchase of MiG-35 Russian Ministry of Defense agreed with the RAC "MiG" for the supply of 16 MiG-29 SMT.
