As a modern modular war ship, the ship of DSNS (Netherlands) and PAL (Surabaya) cooperation consists of 7 parts of the ship (module) that can be worked in separate places to be reunited. For the ship PKR-1 of 7 modules of this ship, as many as 5 units done in Surabaya and 2 units done in the Netherlands, while for PKR-2 as many as 6 modules are done in Surabaya and 1 module is done in the Netherlands. The final assembly of these ship modules is done at PT PAL shipyard Surabaya.

This fregat ship was launched on 29 September 2016 in PT PAL Surabaya. after that a sea trial to test the function and integration of power system, scanner system and weapon system of this ship in order to be operated fully by the Navy.

Frigate KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai 332 will be the second Sigma-10514 class modern frigate in the Navy after in January 2017 the first handover of KRI RE Martadinata 331 was handed over.
