Thai Navy to Acquire Thai Made 8×8 and 4×4 Armored Vehicle

Naval Transportation Department, Royal Thai Navy announced to acquire 2 of Eight-wheel drive (8x8) Amphibious Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and 6 of Four-wheel drive (4x4) Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPV).

The Thailand's company competitors include R600 8x8 by Panus Assembly Co.,Ltd. and Black Widow Spider (BWS) 8x8 by Preecha Thavorn Industry for Amphibious APC 8x8 and First Win II by Chaiseri metal & rubber Co. Ltd. for MPV 4x4.

According to the Department of Naval Transport The Royal Thai Navy has announced a project to purchase 2 wheeled armored vehicles (8x8) and a project to purchase 6 armored vehicles 4x4 multipurpose veicles (type 4x4) on 30 August 2021.

Based on TOR, it is possible that Panus Assembly Thai's R600A 8x8 amphibious armored vehicle will be the winner in the 8x8 wheeled armored vehicle project when compared to Preecha Thavorn Industry's Black Widow Spider 8x8 armored vehicle.

And for the 4x4 multipurpose armored vehicle project, it should be the purchase of the First Win II 4x4 wheeled armored vehicle of Chaiseri Thai company in addition to the same project in 2020, all of which support the Thai internal security industry of the Thai Navy.
