Government of Aceh Plans to Buy N-219 Aircraft

BANDA ACEH (RA) - Banda Aceh, formerly known as Kuta Raja, is the capital and largest city in the province of Aceh, Indonesia.. The Aceh government plans to purchase N219 aircraft produced by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI), with options to develop the N219, aerospace and aerospace facilities in Aceh.
To that end, the Government of Aceh will facilitate the location of the area for the purposes of the establishment of such aerospace facilities.
As quoted from the Head of Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of Aceh Mulyadi Nurdin, it was discussed in a meeting between the Government of Aceh with PT Dirgantara Indonesia, in Bandung, December 19, 2017 ago.
Mulyadi Nurdin added that on that occasion also signed an agreement to make strategic cooperation between the Government of Aceh and PT Dirgantara Indonesia.
From the Government of Aceh signed by the Special Advisor of the Governor of Aceh, Capt. Muchammad Nasrun Natsir, while PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) by Head of Sales Division of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), Ade Yuyu Wahyuna.
Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of Aceh, Mulyadi Nurdin explained that on that occasion, the Aceh government also submitted plans to develop aerospace and space facilities, among others, Aero City with facilities, including industrial areas and MRO (Maintenance Repair Overhaul).
"The Aceh government will build three Special Economic Zones to be supported by integrated transportation," Mulyadi Nurdin cited the agreement.
In response to the plan, PTDI will provide a proposal related to the establishment of the N219 final assembly line facility, including the human resource development program of the Acehnese son in the aerospace industry.
The proposal will be submitted to the Aceh government by the end of January 2018.
In connection with Aceh's plans to establish Aero city, PTDI will study the possibility of establishing ISH (Indonesia Service Hub) facility in Aceh, to capture costumer from South and Southeast Asia.
The N219 is a 19-person passenger aircraft powered by two pratt and whitney aircraft engines from Canada Limited PT6A-42 each powered 850 SHP.
The aircraft is capable of flying and landing on short runways making it easy to operate in remote areas. PTDI successfully conducted the inaugural flight test of N219 aircraft on August 16, 2017 ago.
